Code of Conduct
Last Updated: January 27, 2026
To ensure a professional, focused, and safe learning environment for the Evergreen Pilot Cohort, all students are expected to adhere to the following standards.
1. Technology Policy
We operate a professional classroom environment similar to a corporate boardroom.
-
Phones: Mobile phones must be silenced and put away (in bags or pockets) at all times during the session. Use of phones for social media, texting, or recording during class is strictly prohibited.
-
Laptops/Tablets: Laptops are permitted only during specific modules when instructed by a mentor (e.g., for financial modeling or research activities). At all other times, screens must be closed to ensure active listening.
-
No Recording: To protect the privacy of fellow students and the intellectual property of Evergreen, students are strictly prohibited from video recording or photographing the session, the mentors, or the materials.
2. Mentor-Student Boundaries
Our mentors are early-career professionals. Interactions must remain strictly professional.
-
Social Media: Students and mentors are permitted to connect on LinkedIn only for professional networking purposes. Connecting on personal social platforms (Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Discord, etc.) is prohibited during the program.
-
Physical Boundaries: Evergreen maintains a strict "no-contact" policy. Professional greetings (handshakes) are appropriate; other physical contact is not.
-
The "Open Door" Rule: To ensure safety for all parties, a student should never be alone with a mentor in a closed room. Discussions will always take place in open, visible areas.
3. Arrival & Dismissal Protocols
-
Punctuality: Sessions begin promptly. Please arrive 5 minutes early to settle in.
-
Open Dismissal: When the session concludes, students are dismissed on their own recognizance. Evergreen mentors are not responsible for supervising students once they have left the designated classroom.
-
Leaving Early: If a student needs to leave the premises before the session ends, they must notify a mentor immediately. Note: As outlined in your Waiver, Evergreen is not liable for students once they exit the classroom, whether at the scheduled end time or early.
4. General Professionalism
-
Respect: We expect students to treat peers and mentors with the same respect they would offer a colleague in a workplace. Disruptive behavior, bullying, or hate speech will result in immediate removal.
-
Participation: This is an active learning environment. Students are expected to engage in discussions and activities. Passive disruption (sleeping, refusing to participate) affects the cohort's energy and will be addressed.
5. Disciplinary Action
Violations of this Code of Conduct will be handled as follows:
-
First Violation: A verbal warning from the Lead Mentor.
-
Second Violation: A written notification to the parent/guardian.
-
Third Violation: Removal from the program. (Note: Serious violations, such as harassment or safety threats, may result in immediate removal without prior warning or refund).
